Ce raisin généreux donnera un Le Castillet à Perpignan vin à l'image du pays.
Perdu au milieu des vignes, un étrange parasol attire l'attention.
En regardant de plus près, le seul arbre des lieux crée la surprise. C'est un genévrier.
Ordinairement, c'est plutôt un arbuste aux formes tourmentées, parfois rampantes. Ici, le port dressé, l'ampleur du feuillage, les dimensions du tronc évoquent un âge très avancé, sûrement millénaire.

Notre domaine est situé dans les premiers contreforts des corbières, à 23 km de Perpignan 15 km de la Méditerranée et du canigou.Ce terroir rocailleux argilo calcaire, brûlé par un soleil généreux produit des vins de qualité qui surprennent agréablement par leur couleur et leur bouquet.
Une bouteille de Vin de pays des Côtes catalanes 2005 vous sera offerte, quel que soit le montant de votre commande.

INTRODUCTION TO THE DOMAIN
Our domain lies in the low foothills of the Corbieres, 23 km from Perpignan, 15 km from the Mediterranean Sea and 80 km from the Canigou Peak. This rocky clayey-chalky soil, burned by a generous sun produces quality wines that may pleasantly surprise you through their colour and bouquet.
A FAMILY STORY
The passion of our two sons led us to open our own cellar.
They both wished to turn to quality instead of quantity, so we decided to uproot about 50 hectares (113 acres).
As young wine-makers, here they are at work on 20 hectares (45 acres), supported by the wise advices of their father and the know-how of the oenologist.
Their hard work and passion gave birth to the range of wines of the Domaine du Vieux Genevrier (Domain of the Old Juniper Tree).
Our story goes on, our passion remains pure in order to produce these wonderful wines that will charm your taste. Just try them !
THE TERROIR (soil)
Côtes du Roussillon Village
The Opoul terroir is essentially constituted of red soils of compact chalk. These are the soils of the Corbieres foothills where the Black Grenache, Carignan and Syrah can give their full expression. Combined with the mediterranean profile, the wines produced by this terroir can be counted in the top range.
MUSCAT of RIVESALTES
In Opoul, the vineyards occupy these blessed lands. Gripped to the Corbieres Mountains, hot and dry, they produce wines of the highest quality.
In ancient times, the Romans already praised the sweet wines of the Roussillon. Later, the Muscats where appreciated at the table of the Kings of France.
The production is limited to 20 hl per hectare. Both vine-plants Muscat Petit Grain and Muscat of Alexandria give special aromas on the Opoul terroir, flower aromas, sweet, smooth, typical of this Mediterranean terroir.
VIN de PAYS (Country Wine) of the CATALAN COAST
May be drunk in their early years, these are young wines, fully balanced, simply pleasure wines.
